Yikes, Where has the time gone?!

This blog was created to keep everyone up-to-date on our lives, but I have fallen off the wagon myself!! Time just flies by and things seem to get away from you, as you can see with my last post back in '09. So many great things are happening for the Pugh Family right now that I don't even know where to begin. Adalyn is getting so big and will be 4 next month--WOW!! She is such a character and we wouldn't want her any other way!! We like to think she is the smartest little thing out there and of course she thinks she knows IT ALL!!! We finally sold our house and our closing on it the end of February-YEAH!! Not to mention we have purchased a new home in the mean time too! We have decided that 2011 was a year for change and have decided to branch out of our comfort zone and move out of Mooresville...I know, I know crazy, but we will be just fine! Come the end of February we will be residents of Plainfield, Indiana! So much is happening in the next 30 days that I am sure the blog will go by the way side again, but I vow to do my best and post as often as I can!! Hugs to all!!

What a great Father's Day weekend we had! On Saturday, Adalyn and I did the 5K Ronald Run with Katie, Jeff, and Gabby on the "All for Ellie" team. I must say, it was a great day, with great friends, and for a great cause! Thanks for inviting us guys!!

After the race, Adalyn and I came home and worked on her "masterpiece" craft for Daddy for Father's Day! She was so into doing the "craft" that she got a little upset when we were done! It turned out great! She kept saying, "Daddy is going to love it!!" She was so right!!

I had planned on us getting up early Sunday morning, making Father's Day breakfast, going to church, hanging out, visiting the Dad's, etc. Well, when you have a 2 year old, things never seem to quite work the way you have planned. Adalyn is at the "I'm scared" stage and everything and anything at nap time or bedtime scares her. Saturday night was one of those nights. She was in bed with us, which she never sleeps with us, pretty much all night-yikes!! Between her and Jay hogging the bed, I had about an inch of bed to sleep on, so that means-I didn't sleep!! So needless to say, when I got up on Sunday, I had a major headache and my body was stiff!! Jay said that since it was "his" day he decided that he wanted his fav breakfast food from BK and wanted to take Adalyn fishing in the pond. I was Super glad, because I was able to stretch out on the couch and I got out of making breakfast-sorry honey!! Adalyn couldn't wait to give the masterpiece to Daddy so she ran into the living room to give Jay his masterpiece and said, "Happy Mother's Day, Daddy!!" Too Funny!! Finally she got it down pat to "Father's Day!"

After Jay and Adalyn spent the morning together we went over to visit Jay's dad and then over to my dad's for a cookout. Monday evening we took my stepdad out for dinner! Lots of great dads in this family! I love you all very much! Thanks so much Jay for being the best dad, husband, and friend! Your wonderful!

Kari has officially joined the 30's Club with the rest of us-yeah!! Her wonderful husband, Steve planned a surprise 30th party for her downtown at the Claddagh on Saturday night. I really do think she was surprised! We had a great time there eating, drinking, doing shots, and chatting! After that we hit up, Have a Nice Day for a "Happy, Happy" Bowl, more drinks, shots, chatting, and of course booty shakin'!! We then decided to chill out for a bit at Nicky Blane's. After what seemed to be a 10 mile walk-really I think it was like 4 blocks, we arrived to have one of my fav's, a pomegranate martini!! The chillin' was starting to make us a little tired so off we went back to Have a Nice Day to shake it some more! We had such a great time helping Kari celebrate her 30th birthday! We are some wild people, I think 30 is the new 20!!

On Tuesday, May 19 I lost a very important person in my life, my Gram's. She was the rock and foundation of our family. Whenever there was an issue she was the one to handle it or help you figure out what was best. She always spoke her mind, which is where I think I get it from, and was a wonderful Christan woman. God was such an important person in her life. I know she is in a beautiful place with Grandpa, uncle Larry, and God. She is having the time of her life!! No more pain and is watching over us every day! I love and miss you very much and think of you often. I can not wait to see you again some day! Love you Gram's!!

What a great day, Mother's Day! It is so hard to believe that I have been a mom for almost 2 years now! Where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday I was finding out I was pregnant and then now she is almost 2 1/2?! Wow! This Mother's Day, like the others, was so special! Jay and Adalyn cooked breakfast and showered me with gifts! My favorite gift of all was Adalyn telling me all day, "Happy Mother's Day, I Love You!" How great is that! FYI, I really like the ring and massage gift card too!! Not to mention the beautiful boutique of flowers and picture frames! You guys are the best!! Mom joined us at church and then came over to pick up her gifts. Adalyn made sure to pick our really special gifts for the Grandma's this year (pink furry animal statues holding a red rose-WOW!!) After church we headed over to visit with Gram's at the nursing home! She looked so good! Thanks for everything! I Love you guys!!

What a great God we have to have blessed us with such an amazing weekend! This weekend has just been wonderful! Friday evening Adalyn wanted Daddy to get in the "closet" as she calls the shed to get out the fishing poles. This girl is obsessed with fishing and worms-Tomboy! She got out both of their poles and went straight to the gate. So the family all enjoyed an evening of fishing and worm counting! Then on Saturday which was an absolutely gorgeous day, Adalyn and I took advantage of it, even though we are both still a little under the weather, to pick up Mimi and head out to Gregory's Orchard for their Spring Carnival. Adalyn had such a good time! She was able to pet all kinds of animals, ride Teddy the Horse, have Binky the Clown make her a butterfly balloon, and get her face painted! What a great day and needless to say, she took a GREAT nap!!

Nikki is getting so close to giving birth to her twins! Of course she is killing me along with many others, due to not finding out the genders of the babies!! Nikki and I went to jr. high and high school together and have coached cheerleading together for 7 years! Well, she and I both decided that we were "throwing in the towel" to cheerleading. Not because we were over it, it was just that she couldn't do it with having the new babies and the Pugh family will be getting bigger in the future and having a 2 year old is work enough! So, to show my appreciation for Nikki as a friend and colleague I decided to throw her a surprise shower! Boy was she surprised!! She thought we were meeting with the AD to discuss the possible cadets for the job and when we walked into the library the girls all jumped out and shouted, "surprise!" She was so surprised I am shocked she didn't go in to labor, thank goodness! We all love you Nik and I can't wait to get my hands on those babies!!

What a beautiful day God blessed us with on Sunday. Thank you! I was a little concerned that Jay and Adalyn may have to go to church without me because I had a migraine all night Saturday and then woke up with it Sunday morning. But with a little prayer, some Migraine Excedrin, and of course caffeine, it was gone! Yeah! When Adalyn got up and realized there was a basket full of goodies for her on the table, she was a little confused as to why they were there and who had brought them?! I kept asking her the night before who was coming to visit and she kept saying, "Tammy." Tammy is Adalyn's daycare provider and she had had on bunny ears Friday and Adalyn was a little confused thinking Tammy was the Easter Bunny-too funny! So, needless to say this is why there was some confusion. She did end up digging in and spreading her goodies and that wonderful Easter basket grass all throughout the living room.

After all the morning excitement, we were off to church. Adalyn was so funny at church!! Of course it was crowded, so we had to sit out in vestibule area right outside the sanctuary. We were in the front row and Adalyn wanted to see everything so badly that we allowed her to stand on the window ledge. Well, she was something else! Needless to say several people commented on how "cute" she was being. I am sure we left evidence behind,little hand prints! She had a blast in Sunday School, which I am so excited that she is old enough to go to know. They had an egg hunt around the church and learned about why Easter is important and of course, "Jesus" as she told me several times!

After church we headed out to Mimi and Papaw's so Adalyn could get her next Easter basket. Mimi had this little bunny toss game in her basket that Adalyn thought was the greatest thing ever! She wanted everyone to play! We then went over the Jason's mom's for dinner and then to my Aunt Julies' house for the Egg Hunt!! Aunt Julie has this enormous sand pile in her backyard that Adalyn was fascinated with. She kept getting side tracked while hunting eggs saying she was going to the "beach" and to "build a sand castle!" What can I say, she is our little beach bum! The egg hunt was so much fun and Adalyn did really well finding 15 eggs!! The day ended with all 3 of us coming home and taking a much needed nap!! What a great day!

Oh the joys of coloring Easter eggs! Adalyn was more excited to color Easter eggs than I thought she would be this year. I think it is because she had colored eggs with Mimi on Wednesday and then at daycare on Thursday, so when I mentioned it, she was READY!! Daddy tried to help make the boiling of the eggs go faster, but his help only hinder the process;( Jay didn't seem to understand why you don't have the eggs boiling on HIGH, so he turned it up to HIGH to make the "eggs get done quicker." Well, the only thing it did was make them bounce around in the pot quicker and CRACK. So, we had to boil more eggs. Nice try Jay, but leave the egg boiling up to me! Then I forgot how long it takes for those darn eggs to cool after boiling them so needless to say Adalyn was up a little past her bedtime to get the eggs done! I was a little worried about her wanting to dunk the eggs herself but she didn't-Yeah! She just pointed and told me which color she wanted and of course she did all of the wonderful art work!! Coloring eggs together as a family was fun!

Back home again in Indiana-Yuck! No, actually I am glad to be home, yet sad to leave the sunny beaches and warm weather behind! We left out around 5pm on Friday, March 27 and were home at 11pm on Friday, April 3. Thanks to my wonderful, 5 hour Energy hubby, we made the 16-18 hour drive all in one day with no stopping (only to fill up and relieve ourselves!!) Adalyn was such a trooper and if you would have told me she was going to do as well as she did, strapped in a car seat for that long, I would have said you were crazy!
We stayed at my grandma's place in the Bradeton/Sarasota area which is beautiful! She lives in the largest retirement community in Florida-this place is so big that they have their own zip code!! We were able to get everywhere on the "buggy" aka golf cart that we needed. The drive to the beach was only about 10-15 minutes. We did a lot of "firsts" on our trip. Jay went golfing for the first time, we went to the dog track and bet on the dogs for the first time, and we went to Siesta Key for the first time-beautiful!! We did venture back to the Mote Aquarium, and Adalyn loved it more this year than last! What a nice, much needed vacation, but now it is back to reality! Enjoy my fav pics from our trip!

Well, there has been so much going on lately that I don't have time to talk about it all. First, after 3 visits to get Adalyn's 2 year pics done, we were successful. They say, "Third times a charm." As you can see, here are just a "few" of my favs! She is so stinkin' cute! I just love her!! Also, on March 18 Adalyn went pee-pee in the potty for the first time-Yeah! Then on March 24 she pooped in the potty-double yeah!! She has continued to keep going and having less and less accidents in her Big Girl Panties!! I am so proud of her!! What a BIG girl she is!!

We are off to Florida tomorrow for Spring Break and a much needed vacation. Be looking for super cute beach pics in the near future!!

Well, Jason has been on my to get Adalyn's hair cut since she was like born! If you don't know, he is obsessed with hair and is getting his hair cut all of the time! Our stylish, Shirley, is thankful for his bi-weekly business. So, I finally gave in and shortly after Adalyn's 2nd birthday I decided that getting a little "trim" wouldn't hurt. So off we went to visit Shirley. Adalyn did such a great job! What a big girl! You would have thought she had done this before. She is so stinkin' cute!

Another year has come and gone. I cannot believe that our little girl is now 2! Where did the time go? She is getting so big and is doing so many new things each and every day. Jay and I were able to get out for "Date Night" on Valentine's night, which was great! We always say that we are going to do "Date Night" once a month and it seems like something always happens, but not this time! Even though Mamaw was sick and couldn't keep Adalyn as planned, Grandma and Grandpa Acton were brave and watched both Adalyn and Emma-ALL NIGHT!! Jay took me to dinner at Stone Creek, which was very nice. Then we headed up north to meet up with Mom and Steve. We had a great time hanging out and relaxing!

Well, the snow finally arrived this winter!! Indiana was due for some good snow and it finally made its way here! Today, there was no school of course, so Adalyn and I got to hang out and play! Jay, however, did have to go into work, so no playing out in the snow until after nap time! Once Jay got home he shoveled the driveway, or should I say plowed the driveway, or should I say with the help of our neighbors they all shoveled and plowed the driveway! After that chore was complete, it was time to bundle Adalyn up and take her out for her FIRST "playing in the snow" experience!! When we got a little snow back in December she had her cast on and wasn't able to play and then this past little bit we got, well it was just WAY to cold for her to play in, so we were super excited to get her out there today. I was so worried about her getting cold, so I bundled her up EXTRA good-my mom would be proud!! She had on 3 layers, a coat, 2 sets of gloves, 3 pairs of socks, her hat, hood, Mommy's scarf, and but of course... Her Kitty RAIN Boots!! I thought I had a pair of hand-me-down snow boots but I didn't, so the rain boots worked out great!! After she was all bundled up she kind of reminded me of the kid brother on the movie, "Christms Story" that couldn't put his arms down, but the girl version?! What do you think?! Anyways, Jay had fun pulling her on the sled, which only lasted for about 5 minutes and then she wanted to dive into the snow herself. Her and Daddy made a snow angel together and she giggled the entire time! She kept saying how much she liked the snow and how much fun it was! We decided to go around to the front of the house where she could stand up on the cleared driveway. As we were standing there talking to some neighbors she decided to go head first into the mound of snow the Jay piled up! Serious Face Plant! Once she did that, all the fun and games were over! She wanted to go inside because she was "cold." Well, it was a lot of fun while it lasted! I love the snow!

These past few weeks have been super crazy not to mention all of the great things that have happened too! Adalyn is working her way toward potty training everyday more and more-YEAH!! We are at the point where she sits on the potty 3 times a day and wears Big Girl Panties for a couple of hours in the evening-we have only had a few accidents which is great! She has yet to "perform" or go "potty" in the potty, but I know the day will soon come! Adalyn also has moved on up from a crib to a Big Girl Bed! This was an adjustment because she kept wanting to get out of her bed in the middle of the night. One night I found her in the hallway at 4am playing with the dog! After that night we decided that it would be best for us to keep her bedroom door completely shut! Since that night she has been doing great! Sleeping through the night and not getting out of bed-YEAH!! Adalyn also has a NEW Cousin-Jackson Cole. He was born on Friday, Jan. 23 at 1:41 pm. He is SUPER cute with the stinkin' cutest hair around!! Adalyn is not jealous of him like I thought she would be, she is protective!!

We went with parents to Indiana Live! Casino on Saturday night. None of us had ever been and my mom had never gambled a day in her life-can you believe that?! Well, we had a really great time and the place is really nice. We didn't hit it big, but did break even, which is a plus. I didn't realize that you were not allowed to take pictures in the casino until I got in trouble by one of those security guys-oops! He told me that he was going to have to make me delete my pictures. Well as you can see I didn't delete them all-just the one he saw me take! I know from going to Vegas that you can't take pics at the tables but you could anywhere else, but I guess the rules are different in Indiana. Overall, great place to go and hang out and not a far drive. They had a nice bar, tables to sit at just to chill, live music, and of course all the gambling you could want.

As usual I could not sleep on Christmas Eve-for some reason I never can! I think that it is just all of the excitement of Christmas morning! Anyways, I finally did fall into a deep sleep around 6am and Adalyn decided she was going to sleep in too! We didn't get up until close to 8:30! I was planning on being out to Mimi and Papaw's by then-Oops!! Jay and I went in to get her and she was kind of grouchy! Growing up Santa always placed the presents under the tree unwrapped and just seeing them for the first time glowing under the lights of the Christmas tree was always a thrill. I wanted Adalyn to have the same experience so I put her down at the end of the hallway and she took off right away running to the tree! "Oh, no! Look Mommy! Look Daddy! Wow!" These were all of the great sounds coming from her as she looked through everything Santa had brought! After opening her gifts from Mommy and Daddy and going through everything, I mean everything that Santa brought; it looked like a tornado had hit our living room!! No time to clean because it was off to Mimi and Papaw's for Christmas biscuits and gravy-Yum!! We loaded up, in our PJ's of course, and was off to Mimi and Papaw's. We ate a great Christmas breakfast, thanks mom, and then opened yet more gifts!! After that we went to Ruby and Gene's-Mamaw and Papaw Hamm's house for yet again, more presents! Adalyn had such a great Christmas!! Thank you all!!

Since we have such a LARGE family, it seems that we start our "rounds" of Christmas earlier and earlier each year. This year we started out on Sunday with the Jacobs and Acton Christmas, Monday evening it was the Pugh Christmas, and then Christmas Eve it was Christmas time with Grandma and Grandpa Acton. As you can see for the pics Adalyn already has enough stuff to fill an entire room-boy I am dreading having the make room for all of it, but if it makes her happy I am all for it! She is really into Christmas this year and I love it! She was kind of unsure of Santa at first, but then we took her on Monday to see him and she ran right up and sat on his lap! On Christmas Day we will be off to Mimi and Papaw's and then to Ruby and Gene's! Merry Christmas Eve!!

I have become really great friends with them all-we spent pretty much every Saturday together for the past 18 months. Either you come to love one another or hate each other. Due to all of the drama that has been going on the past couple of weeks, I had almost forgot about our Disney on Ice tickets. Even though Adalyn had to go the ortho. doctor on the same day as the show, Jason and I were determined, even though we were both dragging, to take her. She deserved to have some fun due to all she had been through. So, off we went dragging and all. Adalyn had the BEST time. I can't believe that a 1 1/2 year old sat still for a 2 hour show! She was glued!! Every now and then she would say, "Oh no!" or "Ooooo and Awwwww." What a great family fun night!!

Waiting and wondering for what is
about to happen?!

Well, it has been quite the crazy past couple of weeks around the Pugh Household. Adalyn started running a fever and they were concerned that there could be an infection in her leg. So, off to the doctor we went 2 days in a row. Day 1 blood work and we found out that she had ear infection number 7!! Yes, this is her 3 ear infection in the past 3 1/2-4 weeks, so tubes are in Adalyn's near future!! Day 2 we went to see Dr. Berrios, the ortho doctor and he did x-rays and took off the cast. He did put in in a walking cast and that came off on Monday. We go back to see him on Dec. 29 and we are keeping our fingers crossed that everything is OK and that we can go back to gymnastics. Yes, I am crazy, but I am signing her back up for "jumpy, jumpy." She loves gymnastics and I hate to keep her out of something she loves. The fracture could have happened anywhere so I am not banning gymnastics! I will keep you all updated on the ear tubes situation!

Note to self: NEVER LEAVE A TODDLER ALONE IN A ROOM WHERE THERE IS A MARKER IN REACH. Why was I such an idiot and let this happen?! Adalyn was in the living room and had gotten juice all over her, the floor, and her blanket. So, I stripped her down to just her diaper, sock, and cast and went to get her some dry clothes. Well, I must have gotten a little side tracked, because I ended up putting in a load of her laundry. I went to check on her and found a DISASTER!! She had found my black marker that I had been grading papers with prior to the juice incident and decided to "color". Boy, did she do a GREAT job! She had black marker every where, as you can see from the pictures. I was very thankful, however, that she managed not to get in on my table runner (just the table), the chair, or the carpet. She is still a wild women even in a cast. Nothing can stop her!!

Well, I feel like I deserve "Mother of the Year" since Adalyn, only being 1 1/2 years old already has her first cast and to top it all off she injured herself at gymnastics!! To make a long story short, the Adalyn was jumping on the trampoline at gymnastics and fell. She couldn't put pressure or stand on her left leg for some time. After being able to put pressure on it, she was limping. We went to the doctor the next day and they did x-rays. Well, the x-ray people didn't take the correct x-rays and she was still limping, so we were sent to see Dr. Berrios, an Orthopedic Specialist. He is GREAT!! He said that the x-rays's didn't show a break, but with the limping and symptoms we are saying she has, he is pretty sure she has a hair-line fracture. In toddlers, their cartlige and tissue is so thick that hair-line fractures take up to 12 days after the injury to show. He also said that little ones have a very high pain tolerance and can live through the pain and that is why it is hard for us to tell if they are hurt. He wanted to be safe and protect it so she didn't re-injure it before next Friday when we will do x-rays again. So, since she is SUCH the busy little girl, he thought putting a cast on up to her knee would be the best option. She can't take it off where as with a boot she could. If she were to re-injure the fracture she already has then we would be looking at surgery and that is a road I DON'T want to go down!! She did a FABULOUS job while they were putting on her cast! She is such a BIG girl. Everyone commented on how well she did!! I asked her what color she wanted and she said, "Purple" so she has her first purple cast. We go back next Friday to remove the cast and do more x-rays. If the x-rays look good and she isn't limping we are good to go, but if the x-rays show the fracture then she has to have a cast put back on for 4 more weeks-OUCH!! Also, he said that if she is still limping and the x-rays look fine, then he will do an MRI and Bone Scan to see where the problem is. He said that something isn't right and he is determined to fix it. Like I said he is a GREAT doctor!!

Well, since Adalyn has had the stomach bug and an pneumonia, Halloween this year wasn't as exciting as I had hoped. Adalyn was able to get into the doctor first thing on Friday morning and get a Penicillin shot since she was unable to keep the oral medicaiton down and the doctor said that if she wasn't running a fever and since it was going to be a very nice Halloween night, we could get her out for a little while. She was VERY excited to get dressed up in her Minnie costume, which I was glad to see since she had been feeling so poorly. We only made a few stops, Mimi & Papaw's, Grandma & Grandpa's, and then to see Mawmaw. At grandma and grandpa's she was feeling ok, so we decided to take her to a few houses to Trick-or-Treat. We have been working so hard on teaching her how to say Trick-or-Treat and we hated for her not to be able to say it a few times. At our last house, she was starting to feel yucky and we Daddy and I told her to say Trick-or-Treat, she said, "No Way, Mommy!" The old guy thought that was great! Even though she was sick, she was still the cutes Minnie Mouse I have ever seen!!

Several weeks ago we headed to Greendale Mulch to check out their pumpkin patch. Much to our surprise, we LOVED it!! It was not crowded, the hayride to the pumpkin patch was free, and most importantly Adalyn had a blast! Mimi and Papaw decided to go along with us. Once Adalyn got off the hayride she immediatly spotted the pumpkin she wanted. She was not happy until Papaw cut it off the vine for her. She carried that pumpkin around the entire time. She kep saying, "Oh Mommy, my pukin is heaby!" Too cute!! We all had a great time!

On Friday, Jason and I took Adalyn to see Dr. Miller. Even though Adalyn is only 19 months old, Dr. Miller felt that it was important to check her eyes due to her Mommy's poor eye sight. For those of you that are not aware, I am severely far-sided and have had glasses since I was 2 years old! I still have my very first pair of glasses, Strawberry Shortcake!! The check-up went great and Dr. Miller said that Adalyn's eyes look fabulous!! We do not need to go back until she is 3 years old!! What a relief! Just a little side note: As we were waiting in the waiting room, Adalyn started counting the frogs on the play table, ALL BY HERSELF!! Jason and I just looked at each other as she counted from 1-6 all on her own!! She is a GENIUS!!!

The week I went back to work Adalyn decided she was going to get her first ear infection (double ear infection) and a touch of pneumonia. Well, once we thought she was getting over that she had a reaction to the medication she was on and still wasn't feeling well. Well, once we were on the road to health Adalyn started acting a little grouchy again. Well come to find out she had Hand, Foot, and Mouth. And of course being my daughter, she had to go all out and get a severe case and the sores became infected!! Let's just say that week and a half was terrible for her and Mommy and Daddy! Poor Baby!!

Grandpa was one of a kind!! He had nicknames for everyone. Adalyn was his toodlems and I was the Sarg because I kept him in line! Let's see, what place did I get?!

On Saturday, Adalyn was in the Morgan County Fair Baby Contest. She was in Class 4, which was ages 12 months-24 months. There were 11 kids in her class and she placed 3rd!! Daddy was so sad that he couldn't make it, but we video taped the entire thing!! Daddy was a little disappointed about her not getting 1st, but said that it was OK because 1st & 2nd place were boys and she was the cutest girl in her class!! Mimi, Mamaw, Aunt Robin, and Grandma & Grandpa Acton were all there to cheer her on!! She is of course 1st in our book, but 3rd in the baby contest is great!!

Friday night was Girls Night!! We were all in desperate need to get away and let loose!! We first had dinner at BJ's Brewery in Greenwood, which was great and then headed downtown to Howl at the Moon!! We all let loose and had a great time!! Kari's sister, Kim, was in town and was able to join in on the fun too!! I am looking forward to our next Girl's Night Out!!

I just LOVE this picture of her!! Shhh!! I am hiding!!

Look at my new hiding spot!!

On Friday evening I thought Adalyn was being a little more quiet than usual playing in her room, so I decided I better check on her. Well as you can see, she has found a new hiding spot/play area!! I stood and watched her for several minutes and she continued to climb in and out over and over! Every time she wanted out, she would shout "out" forgetting that she could do it on her own! I thought I would take advantage of the moment and "hide" Adalyn a little better amongst her stuffed animals! After "hiding" her, I acted as if I didn't see her and kept saying, "Adalyn, where are you? Daddy do you know where Adalyn is? Maybe she is under her bed? No, maybe she is in the closet?" Adalyn was SO quiet and then would giggle every so often, because she really thought she was hiding from me! It was SO CUTE!!

We took advantage of the great weather on Friday afternoon and headed out to the park!! Adalyn was excited just to run around and talk to everyone, that the playground equipment wasn't to interesting at first. Once she realized she could climb, she was SO excited!! There was this hippo that she kept calling a doggy that she was fascinated with, maybe that means she will be a zoologist!! When she was done playing she took off, so we didn't have to pry her away, thank goodness!!

Well, Adalyn was so excited to finally get in her new "Fishy Pool"! As you can see she looked SUPER CUTE in her new bikini!! We waited patiently, or as patiently as possible, for Daddy to get home to video tape her getting into the pool. She kept running to the front door yelling, "Daddy" and then to the back door yelling "Out"!! Once we finally got outside, Daddy taped for a little while then decided to get in with Adalyn! She LOVED it!! Daddy was splashing around so much that water was coming out the sides!! What a great day in the sun!!

Well, we went camping for the first time this weekend as a family to Meme's and Papaw's cabin. It was a little hard for me because I was so worried about Adalyn getting hurt, falling, getting dirty, etc. that I didn't enjoy myself as much as I would have liked to. Needless to say, Adalyn did get quite a few "ouchies" but she survived! We played at the park and she LOVED climbing the BIG steps-which made me a nervous wreck, but I let loose and let her climb!! Her and Meme also had a great time swinging on the swing-look at Meme's face, she is having a lot of fun!! As you can see her and Daddy also enjoyed a game a basketball.
She is getting so big. I can honestly say that my daughter is no longer an infant or a baby, shde is a toddler-SNIFF, SNIFF!! Now that Adalyn is a "professional" walker, she thinks it is so neat to hold her toys while she walks-this is quite entertaining to watch!! Oh and we can't forget how the drama queen acts now when she does get an ouchy-she covers both eyes with her hands and let's loose like there is no tomorrow. She is a stinker, but we LOVE her so much!!

Bubbles- I LOVE them!!

WOW-what a week!! Of course last Sunday was Mother's Day and I must say Adalyn did a great job picking out gifts!! She is still doing so many things, that it is so hard for me to keep up with them all!! This week she started saying "E" for Uncle Eric, saying "JoJo" which is one of her favorite cartoon's on Disney, and "Apple" finally sounds like "Apple" and doesn't sound like "bubble". As you all know she has been taking steps here and there, but TODAY IS FINALLY THE DAY--ADALYN IS AN OFFICIAL WALKER!!!! As you can see from the pictures, she is everywhere. Just today, she decided she was just going to take off-boy Dr. Nguyen was right, she said that she had a feeling that when she finally decided she wanted to walk to she was going to do it fast, well she was correct!! Adalyn is the fastest little walker!! She gets so excited and laughs and giggles, because she knows she is a BIG girl now!! Also, she is at the stage where she would much rather be naked than have clothes on-which I hate, but if she is happy, then I will let it be-just when we are around the house!! She is getting SO BIG and I hate every minute of it. I want her to be my little girl forever-which she will be, but just in a big body!!

A Weekend filled with a lot of Firsts!!

Daddy and Adalyn enjoying the beautiful weather!!

This past weekend was exciting even though Adalyn was a little under the weather!! She has discovered several new words, actions, and sounds!! She is now saying “Boo” after Daddy tries to scare her. She is also saying, “light” and then shaking her hand at it and then saying, “hot”! Everything this weekend was “HOT”!! She loves listening to the “De Dee’s” birdies, sing and chirp too. Adalyn loves her bubbles and points to go outside and says “bubbles, out” because she knows that we blow them outside. She just couldn’t understand why we wouldn’t take her out Saturday evening when it was cool-she wasn’t a very happy camper! Also, at Grandma and Grandpa’s garage sale this weekend, she was quite the greeter. She made sure to tell EVERYONE “Hi” and then “Bye” as they were leaving. Adalyn also now knows where her hair, toes, and legs are on top of already knowing her eyes, nose, ear, mouth, and belly. She is learning so much so quickly that it is SO hard for me to keep up with all of it!! Oh, and I can’t forget the most exciting accomplishments of the weekend!! I asked her if she dutied in her diaper-went to the bathroom and she shook her head yes, and said, “Yes”! It looks like we might be potty training this summer!! Also, Adalyn has been quite the lazy little girl in refusing to walk. She CAN do it, but would much rather crawl. Well, on Friday evening, Daddy and I were trying to lure her to walk with a bottle of bright pink nail polish-she was fascinated by it!! She took off towards me with about 6 steps on her own!! Then on Saturday morning she was standing up near the coffee table and caught sight of the cat and took off very quickly!! I counted about 9 steps!! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that she is walking by the end of the month!! What a Wonderful Weekend!!

What a Day!!

Well, today was a crazy day! We had a showing on the house-Yeah, so Adalyn helped Daddy move the Tahoe out of the garage. We then headed for Grammy and Papaw's while, the "potential buyers" looked at the house. At Grammy and Papaw's, Adalyn and Grammy played with bubbles, and Adalyn said "bubbles" for the first time! Later that evening we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Acton's house for Sunday night dinner. While waiting on dinner to get done, Adalyn was on my shoulders and when I went to get her down she leaned forward and hit her eye on the door frame!! OUCH!! She cried and so did I!! I felt like the worst mom ever!! Her eye immediately swelled and bruised! I was freaking out but Adalyn just wanted down to run around! She was acting as if nothing even happened and was ready for her "nummy, nummies". So after dinner, to make her feel better, Daddy and I stopped at Dairy Queen to get her, her favorite ice cream treat, a strawberry sundae!! Well, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!!

Girls Night Out!!

It was that time again-Girls Night Out!! As you can see several girls weren't able to attend, but Amber, Kari, Melissa, and myself sure had a GREAT time!! We decided to eat somewhere a little different, and thanks to Nikki we headed to Fountain Square and ate at Santorini's. The food was GREAT!! They also had fun entertainment-a Belly Dancer!! Amber said that she heard if you make eye-contact with the dancer they she assumes you want to dance. So, every time she came near our table, we all looked down at our food as if we were praying or something!! If you have never been to Santorini's you MUST try it!!

After dinner we headed downtown to get our "groove" on!! We decided to hit Have a Nice Day!! Believe it or not, we were by far not the oldest ones in the place. We enjoyed several cocktails, people watched, and danced the night away!! Fun, fun, fun!!

Last Sunday we took our very first trip to Pizza King so Adalyn could see the train! She was really amazed as it zoomed by and dropped off drinks to people. She kept beating on the window wanting to see it again!! I think Daddy had just as much, if not more, fun as Adalyn did!!

Yesterday and today have been a real "treat"!! Adalyn decided that she wanted to try some dog and cat food. Yesterday I found a huge piece of Molly's dog food in her mouth that she refused to give me! When I tried to get her mouth open to get it out, she told me, "no, no!" After getting it out she was spitting from the nasty taste!! Today, she decided to see if cat food was better and nabbed a piece of Simba's cat food. When I realized she had something in her mouth and went toward her to get it, she took off crawling as fast as she could-what a stinker!! Again, once I got it out of her mouth she started spitting and asked for her juice. I wonder why?? Well, hopefully yesterday and today have been quite the learning days and now I hope that Adalyn realizes that sticking with people food is the best choice!!

My FIRST Gymnastics Class!!

On Tuesday, Adalyn went to her very first gymnastics class! She is getting so big!! As you can see, she was either right by Mommy or Miss Lauren the entire time! She learned how to do a forward roll, which we are still working on, jump on the BIG girl trampoline, walk on the balance beam, hang on the bars, and jump in the block pit!! She LOVED it and as you can tell by the last picture, she did not want to leave!! She can't wait to go back again on Tuesday!!

On April 5th, we went to the zoo and butterfly gardens with Katie, Jeff, and Gabby! The Butterfly Garden was really cool. Adalyn was so amazed, as you can tell by the look on her face, by all of the butterflies flying around!! Then we were off to the zoo! We had so much fun looking at all of the BIG animals!! Before we left, Daddy took me on a carousel ride, boy it was fun!! I really LOVE the zoo!!

Well, we just enjoyed our first family vacation in Florida!! We all flew down together to Sarasota on Sunday, March 30 where we stayed in a hotel on Lido Beach! Boy, Adalyn sure loves the tub water, but wasn't real sure of the ocean water-I think it was a little to chilly for her! The sand was a different story! She loved playing in it as long as it didn't stick to her hands-YUCK!! Flying was a new experience for Adalyn as well. She slept most of the way, but when she was awake, boy she was sure a BEAR!! She wanted down to play and as most of you know, there isn't room on an airplane to get down and play!! We can't wait to go back to Florida again real soon!!
